Aries

My mama called and told me that she was upstairs with Anni and she had finally woken up. I told Topaz, and she didn’t give me any hassle unlike what Keeria’s ass would’ve done. When I walked into the room, I didn’t expect to hear my mama say what the fuck she just said.

“The fuck my mama just say?” I walked further in the room, seeing red, because I knew I didn’t hear what the fuck I thought I just heard. “I know my mama didn’t just say that you were in the bathroom letting this fuck nigga eat yo—”

“Aries, not here. Your baby just woke up, and she already went through too much. Not now.”

“Nah, Ma, fuck that. I knew I shouldn’t have let this bitch come up here with my daughter. Now look what she had to see.”

“Aye, my man, watch ya mouth when you talk to her.” This nigga called himself defending her, but now was not the time.

“Nigga, who the fuck you think you talking to like that?” I was headed in their direction, but my dad and the doctor walked in at the same time.

“Lee, what’s going on in here?” Before she could answer, I did the shit for her.

“What’s going on is my baby mama was in the bathroom being a hoe while my daughter was waking up.” At this point, I was visibly upset, and I wished a motherfucka would tell me to calm down.

“You don’t have to be disrespectful. I am still her mother.”

“Not for long,” was all I said before the doctor cleared her throat and spoke up.

“Excuse me, but I need to examine Ianni, so I need for you all to calm down.” She started reading Anni’s chart while the nurses were checking her vitals.

“Aye, my nigga, this has nothing to do with you.” I directed my hostility toward the fuck nigga still in the room.

“I’m here for YaYa, not you, so I don’t think it’s your choice, my nigga.”

“The fuc…” I was up and at this nigga before he had time to say anything, but my dad got between us just in time.

“Not now, son, not now. Think about the baby. This is what you’ve been waiting for.

“Young man, I think it’s best that you leave and let Yanna and my son deal with their daughter. I’m pretty sure she knows how to contact you. Right now, your presence is unnecessary and making my son and granddaughter upset. Now this is the one and only time that I will stop him. The next time, it’s all on go.” Usually I hated when my mom butted in my business, but right now, I was glad she was here to be my voice of reason.

“Yanna, I’ll see you at the house. Call me if you need anything. I’m out.”

“Anni, I want you to cough as hard as you can for me, OK? I need to pull this tube from out of you so that you can talk to your mommy and daddy.
